Architecture and streets of Palma

Many visitors to Palma are surprised by how modern and cosmopolitan it is. The mixed cultural heritage which makes Palma the interesting place it is today is reflected in its contrasting architecture. Walking through the streets of this Balearic town you can see fine examples of Arab, Jewish, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. For a glimpse of the Moorish influence in this town, look no further than the Mallorca baths and the Almudaia Palace, head for the Bellver Castle and the imposing La Seu Cathedral for a look at Gothic architecture in Mallorca. Another important and much photographed building in Palma is the 15th century building called Sa Llotja which was designed by Guillem Sagrera.
