Es Baluard is housed in a striking white concrete building located inside the renaissance city wall and is surrounded by an attractive terrace with stunning views and situated near to a shady park. Much of the work inside this contemporary art museum is owned by business entrepreneur, Pere Serra who the Serra Art Foundation was named after and who has an extensive and impressive personal collection of works by big names like Miró, Picasso, Barceló and Tàpies. The rest of the work displayed in the museums permanent collection has been contributed by institutions such as Palma City Council.
